New Student Holds
Enrollment Hold Reason: New Student Hold	As a new student you may need to complete orientation, an assessment for math, English or ESL, and counseling prior to enrollment. Please contact the assessment office on campus for questions about how to clear this hold. High School Student Reason: High School Student	All High School students must complete a High School Concurrent Enrollment and submit it and enroll in person at the Admissions & Records Office on campus.	Note: High School students are only allowed to drop classes and view personal information in Campus Solution but must enroll in person at the Admissions & Records Office on campus.
International Student Reason: New International Student	To complete the registration process, to enroll in classes and for more information all International students must contact the International & Global Education Center. Transcript Holds
Transcript Holds Reason: Athletic Equipment Hold	Athletic Equipment Hold: The college has placed a hold on your student record that will prevent release of your transcript. Transcript Holds Reason: Library Hold- Library books overdue	Library users are responsible for returning borrowed materials on time and for paying a charge for lost or severely damaged materials. Circulating materials are considered overdue when not returned by the due date. Failure to meet these obligations will result in a “hold” on student transcripts and borrowing privileges. A library “hold” can be removed when overdue library materials are returned and/or all charges are paid. Library users that do not comply with or violate the College of Alameda Student Code of Conduct, or Library rules and regulations may be subject to disciplinary action and/or loss of library privileges.	To clear this hold, you must contact the Library at the campus indicated on your hold. Transcript Holds Reason: Bad Check-Transcript	Peralta – Bad Check for Transcript Request: This hold indicates that the check(s) written to Peralta for a transcript request have not cleared or have been returned. Failure to make a payment on a returned check will result in transcripts being placed on hold until payment is made	Returned checks and service charges must be paid at the cashier’s office where the original check was presented.
Registration Holds
Registrar Holds Reason: Basic Skills Limit Exceeded	Students who have exceeded 30 units of basic skills allowed and hold will be placed on their record. Contact the counseling department on campus to learn how to clear this hold. Registrar Holds Reason: Need Updated Address	The Peralta Colleges mailed correspondence and it was returned back due to having the wrong address on file. A hold has been placed that will prevent enrollment activity and require the student to update their address.	Addresses can be updated online but contact the Admissions & Records Office at your college to have the hold removed.
Registrar Holds Reason: Need SSN Verification	The Peralta Colleges need an updated Social Security Number. The hold prevents enrollment activity until the students SSN has been verified.	Social Security Numbers can be updated at any Admissions & Records Office on campus (with a valid SSN card and picture ID.).
Bursar’s Holds
Bursar’s Holds Reason: Student Non-Payment	The hold indicates that you have a prior/current balances due on your account. Enrollment activities are prohibited unless payments are made. If you are currently enrolled payments must be received no later than 2 weeks before the term begins or may be automatically DISENROLLED. Bursar’s Holds Reason: Returned Check	This hold indicates that the check(s) written to one of the Peralta Colleges have not cleared or have been returned. Failure to make a payment on a returned check will result in transcripts and Financial Aid disbursements being placed on hold until payment is made.
Bursar’s Holds Reason: Overdue Charge	This Bursar’s Hold has been placed because of non-payment of fees. Failure to make a payment will result in transcripts and Financial Aid disbursements being placed on hold until payment is made.
Probation Holds
Academic – On Probation Reason: Academic – On Probation	ACADEMIC PROBATION: A student who has attempted at least 12 semester units and has a cumulative GPA of less than 2.0 for all Peralta District colleges shall be placed on Academic Probation. You will need to see a counselor, who will offer you support and assistance to improve your academic performance. Academic Probation Continued Reason: Academic Probation Continued	ACADEMIC PROBATION: A student who has attempted at least 12 semester units and has a cumulative GPA of less than 2.0 for all Peralta District colleges shall be placed on Academic Probation. You will need to meet with a counselor who will offer you assistance to improve your academic performance. Progress – On Probation Reason: Progress – On Probation	PROGRESS PROBATION: A student who has enrolled in a total of at least 12 semester units as indicated on the total academic record for all Peralta Colleges shall be placed on Progress Probation when the percentage of all units in which the student has enrolled and for which entries of “W,” “I,” and “NC” are recorded reaches at least 50 percent of all grades recorded. You will need to meet with a counselor or the Vice President of student services, who will offer you support and assistance to improve your academic performance. Progress Probation Continued Reason: Progress Probation Continued	PROGRESS PROBATION: A student who has enrolled in a total of at least 12 semester units as indicated on the total academic record for all Peralta Colleges shall be placed on Progress Probation when the percentage of all units enrolled and for which entries of “W,” “I,” and “NC” are recorded reaches at least 50 percent of all grades recorded. You will need to see a counselor or the Vice President of student services, who will offer you assistance to improve your academic performance. Dismissal Reason: Academic Standing-Dismissal	Academic Standing-Dismissal: A student on Academic Probation shall be subject to dismissal if the student earned a cumulative grade-point average of less than 1.75 in all units attempted in three consecutive semesters. Appeals of dismissal and requests for reinstatement are handled by the Vice President of Student Services. Circumstances that might warrant exceptions to the standards for dismissal should be referred to the Vice President for evaluation. Disciplinary Hold Reason: District Disciplinary Hold	A Peralta District Disciplinary Hold on a student’s recpasord that will prevent enrollment activity and must be cleared by the District Admissions & Records Office.
