| | CSU Transfer InformationThe California State University system requires a transfer student seeking a bachelor's degree to complete a forty-eight-unit breadth requirement, distributed among five academic areas. Thirty-nine of the units are lower-division courses and may be completed at Vista College. Additional units equalling 60 are needed to transfer. See a counselor to plan your transfer. The five breadth requirement areas are:
- Communication in the English Language, Critical Thinking
- Physical and Life Sciences, Mathematics
- Arts, Literature, Philosophy, Foreign Languages
- Social, Political, and Economic Institutions
- Lifelong Understand and Self-Development
American Institution Requirement - CSU graduation requires completion of a U.S. History, Constitution and American Ideals requirement. To complete this requirement take Vista POSCI 1 or 5 and History 7A or 7B or History 40. For full certification of GE requirements students must complete 9 units for Area A, a minimum of 9 units from Areas B, C, and D, and 3 units from Area E (total 39 units). Students must request certification of CSU General Ed. requirements from Admissions and Records prior to transfer. For more specific information consult with a counselor before enrolling in your courses.
